AMCAP, guided by the principles of collective wisdom and shared learning, recognizes the unique significance of Media and Communication studies classrooms as spaces for continual education and innovation. In alignment with the dynamic nature of teaching challenges in the ever-evolving digital academic landscape, the 2023 AMCAP Conference focused on the theme "Class Room Pedagogies." Hosted on February 9, 2023, under the auspices of the Department of Journalism Studies, School of Communication Studies at the University of the Punjab, Lahore, this Working Group aimed to provide a platform for academicians in media and communication studies to collaboratively explore and share their diverse experiences in classroom teaching techniques.

The Working Group comprised three parallel sessions, each facilitated by two moderators, with around 50 participants representing various regions of Pakistan. Additionally, the sessions welcomed six international guests, two in each session, hailing from universities in Czech Republic, Belgium, Russia, Germany, Nigeria, and Sweden. The discussions were structured into four parts: identifying main teaching objectives, addressing challenges faced in the classroom, exploring solutions to enhance teaching quality, and summarizing key learnings. The sessions provided a fruitful exchange of ideas and experiences, with participants emphasizing the importance of actively engaging teaching faculty to develop effective modules of classroom pedagogies.

The outcomes of the working group discussions underscored the significance of entering the classroom with clear objectives tailored to students' levels and understanding. Participants emphasized the need for an inclusive classroom environment, devoid of language and class barriers, while strengthening the student-teacher relationship. Challenges encountered in meeting teaching objectives were openly shared, and solutions were explored collaboratively, showcasing a rich tapestry of diverse techniques employed in the classroom. The productive and engaging session concluded with gratitude expressed by the participants for the valuable learning experience, highlighting the importance of such events in elevating the landscape of Media Education in Pakistan. Their collective hope was for more future events that foster collaborative learning and skill enhancement within the teaching community.
