Established in 2017, the Association of Media and Communication Academic Professionals (AMCAP) is the first independent, voluntary association of media academics in Pakistan. 

Initially registered as AMCAP under the Society’s Act, the organization has now been registered with the Securities and Exchange Commission of Pakistan (SECP) as MCAP as of November 2024. This transition aims to enhance its capacity for international collaborations and further strengthen its role in advancing media academia in Pakistan. From now on, the association will be recognized as MCAP.
