About Us

The Association of Media and Communication Academic Professionals (AMCAP) is a collective effort of prominent communication scholars to promote research and address gaps in media and communication education by bringing academics of the field under one umbrella.

Established in 2017 under Musarat Jamal Khurshid (MJK) Trust the Association of Media and Communication Academic Professionals (AMCAP) is an independent association to promote mutual exchange of ideas to promote media and communication research and education. AMCAP is an initiative to bring academics from media departments to join hands to share ideas and get equal opportunities of sharing and learning.

Association of Media and Communication Academic Professionals (AMCAP) is based on the philosophy that media education should be a deliberate effort to establish and nurture an organic relation between individual and society.

This relation can only be achieved through an orderly transmission of collective experiences and expertise. AMCAP is a collective forum for communication scholars to promote research and education in the field of communication /media/journalism. It is an independent association to build collaborations to bring educational institutions and resources of Pakistan under one umbrella where mutual exchange of knowledge can benefit all. With this aim to pool resources, AMCAP invites all academics of public and private universities and colleges offering mass communication, media studies, journalism, television and film studies, to be member of AMCAP.

 

Objectives of AMCAP

1. Networking among mass communication /media studies/journalism/TV & film educationists from across the country for joint academic ventures.

2. Taking initiatives to improve the quality and standards of existing media education curriculum and suggesting reforms considering national and international needs.

3. Developing a liaison with academia, media industry, and other stakeholders.

4. Holding national and international conferences, lectures, and workshops on a regular basis.

5. Taking initiatives to incorporate the latest technological tools in education and research to build the capacity of media academics in order to meet the emerging challenges in the field.

6. Collaborating with different educational institutions, organizations, and associations working at the national and international levels.

7. Conceptualizing and executing research and development projects at the national and international levels.

8. Taking initiatives for research publications in the field of communication studies.

9. Creating awareness on contemporary issues of national and international importance.
