AMCAP for Members is a platform to

  • Enhance networking with media, mass communication, and journalism academicians at national and international level
  • Provide opportunities to share research ideas through national and international conferences, workshops, seminars and discussion forums;
  • Execute academic and research ideas
  • Provide trainings to improve teaching, research and professional skills
  • Talk about ideas to meet the challenges in media education
  • Bridge the gaps between media education and media industry

How can you become a member?

AMCAP membership is available as:

Full  Membership
Associate Membership
Student Membership
Honorary Membership

1. Full Membership

Academicians of public/private universities and colleges having their degree in mass communication/        communication studies/ media studies/ journalism and employed in the department of mass communication/ communication studies/ media studies/ journalism can become members of AMCAP.

Academicians of public/private universities and colleges having their degree in mass communication/ communication studies/ media studies/ journalism and employed in any teaching department other than department of mass communication/ communication studies/ media studies/ journalism can become members of AMCAP.

2. Associate Membership

Visiting academicians of public/private universities and colleges in the department of mass communication/ communication studies/ media studies/ journalism having their degree in mass communication/ communication studies/media studies/ journalism can become associate members of AMCAP.

Permanent academicians of public/private universities and colleges in the department of mass communication/ communication studies/ media studies/ journalism having their degree other than mass communication/ communication studies/ media studies/ journalism can become associate members of AMCAP.

Students enrolled in PhD programs of public/private universities and colleges in the department of mass communication/ communication studies/ media studies/ journalism can become associate members of AMCAP

3. Student Membership

Students enrolled in MPhil programs of public/private universities and colleges in the department of mass communication/ communication studies/ media studies/ journalism can become associate members of AMCAP.

Students who have completed their MPhil can continue with student membership after five years of their degree completion.

4. Honorary Membership

Chancellor or Vice Chancellor of the Public/Private University.

Retired Professor of mass communication/ communication studies/ media studies/ journalism.

Senior journalist having more than twenty years’ of experience.

Admission to Membership

  1. An application shall be sent to the Association on the prescribed form.
  2. Final decision lies with the AMCAP Executive.
  3. AMCAP Executive will decide for the honorary membership.
  4. The membership fee should be paid annually to renew AMCAP membership.
